Gombe F.A Boss Debunks Rumours Make The Rounds That Gombe United Failed To Honour Their NPFL Match Day 22 Against Enyimba in Aba

The Chairman of Gombe State Football Association,Mr Philibus Yakubu Sarma has debunked rumours make the rounds that Gombe United have failed to honour their NPFL match day 22 fixture against Enyimba  Gombe. “These reports are not only lying from the pit of hell but it’s one of the many attempts of the enemies of the Gombe State Government, Gombe State Football, Northern Football Family, and of course, the Nigeria Premier Football League,”  Sarma, declared  According to him, Gombe United 's vehicle had  a mechanical fault mechanical Lafia and Makurdi road, and already efforts have been made to evacuate them in order to proceed with the journey. “Even though they left Gombe a bit late (1 pm to be precise) to drive through the night to sleep over at Enugu and enter Aba this morning. Gombe Earns Top Spot In Socio-Economic Performance Index

Gombe State has been rated best in the socio-economic performance index among the 36 states and the FCT.  The state secured this enviable position with a PSPI Score of 0.80, ranking 1st  with an AAA rating, indicating an excellent performance. Gombe is followed in declining order by Jigawa, Ekiti and FCT which occupied 2nd 3rd and 4th positions respectively. This is contained in the 2023 National Assessment Report by pcl. State Performance Index (PSPI), an independent organisation which provides insights into the socio-economic performance and risk profiles of Nigerian states. Gombe was rated high in most of the socio-economic parameters that were considered to include: economic potentials, socioeconomic performance and risk management. At regional level, the report indicated that Gombe State stands out as the top-performing state in the North-East affected by Boko Haram Insurgency.
