Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,CON has approved 7 new appointments.  The Secretary to the State Government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi conveyed the Governor's approval in a statement. Those appointed are Mrs. Naomi Maiguwa as Chairman, Gombe State Teachers’ Service Commission ( TSC); Dr. Mahmood Yusuf as Director-General, Joint Project Development Agency and  Dr. Sani Sabo as Sole Administrator of Gombe Line Others are: Auwalu Baba-Jada as Executive Secretary, Gombe State Environmental  Protection Agency (GOSEPA) and Pharm. Governor State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON has directed the immediate closure of all 'Gala Houses' within the State.  The Secretary to the State Government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who announced the directive, said the measure followed series of complaints from the general public on the incessant immoral, criminal activities and security breaches being perpetrated in such night clubs.  The Governor has, consequently, ordered the the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps and the Operation Hattara to mobilise their personnel to effect the directive and ensure strict compliance.   For the avoidance of doubt, the affected Gala Houses are: Jami’a Gidan Wanka located at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe, White House Theatre (Babban Gida) located at New Mile 3 Yola         Road, Gombe; Gidan Lokaci General Merchant located at Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe and Farin Gida Entertainment II located at Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road...

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has restated his determination to restore the integrity of the BAP/ 4 layout in the State capital because of it relevance to the development of Gombe State. He therefore instructed the Director General, Gombe Geographic Information Systems, GOGIS, Dr. Kabir Usman Hassan to use the Executive Order No. 4 signed by the governor in 2021 to take all necessary measures to revitalise the layout. "Go back to executive order No. 4 and take immediate action. And whatever is necessary we shall do. If it means redesigning , revoking, and restoring titles based on what is available, we shall do so without any hesitation. Gombe state Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has joined hundreds of sympathisers to observe the funeral prayer for the late Hajiya Ummu Khulsum Musa and Aishatu Abdullahi, mother  and grandmother respectively of Chairman of Gombe State branch of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah,JIBWIS, Engr Salisu Muhammad Gombe.   Hajiya Umma died yesterday while  Aishatu passed away in the early hours of today in Gombe.  The funeral prayer was conducted after the Juma’at congregational prayers at the Bolari Juma’at mosque, Gombe. Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON says  Gombe State has received 2 billion Naira out of the 5 billion Naira relief funds that the Federal Government allocated to states for the purchase of food items for distribution to vulnerable members of the public to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. He however stated that the government awaits the receipt of the balance as well as the 1 billion Naira worth of maize which the Central Bank of Nigeria is selling to each state from the national strategic reserve.   The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and Transportation, Alh. Yambiu Idris Buba, earlier today,  inspected a road washout at Todi-Shela-Tudu Kwaya road in Billiri local government area.    The Permanent Secretary who was accompanied by a team of Engineers from the Ministry, said they visited the site to assess the extent of damage as a result of heavy downpour.   He assured the communities that the state government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe) will take a swift action to fix the road.  He also assured that government will ensure repairs and reconstruction of other washed-away roads and bridges across the state. Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has further subsidized the price of  fertiliser beiing sold to farmers to  N15, 000 per bag against the initial price of Nineteen Thousand Naira to alleviate the biting effects of the removal of fuel subsidy and its consequential economic impact.  This development is also in line with the advisory from the National Economic Council (NEC), which urged states to design independent responses to the subsidy removal, and also as come up with strategies to help boost food production in the State.  The Secretary to the State Government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi,  who announced the new measure on behalf of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, said all State owned fertilizer selling points/agents across the 11 local government areas are to immediately comply with this directive, adding that the sales and distribution committee should strictly sell to farmers only as a palliative.  Recall that Governor Inu...
