Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received an Award as the “Best Supportive Governor in the North” in the just concluded 2023 Hajj exercise.   The Governor alongside his Adamawa, Kaduna and Edo counterparts were recognised by Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria, an independent media organization that monitors and reports activities of Hajj exercise in Nigeria. Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has embarked on a mission to secure investment opportunities and development partnerships for the state's socio-economic growth.  During his visit to the Nigeria Consul General in New York, Ambassador Lot Peter Egopija, on the sidelines of the ongoing 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly,  Governor Inuwa highlighted the immense potential of Gombe State and its readiness to tap into global opportunities.   Missilli Community Development Foundation has enrolled fifty children from Dawaki quarters of the metropolis into primary school. The foundation run by the Director General, Government Affairs, Government House Gombe,Alhaji Isma'ila Uba Missilli provided the enrollees who are from the less privileged with school uniforms and learning materials. It will also carter for some of their immediate needs while at the same time ensuring they complete their primary school education with hinderance.  Missilli Community Development Foundation is in the forefront of providing solar lights; drilling boreholes among many things.

Yakubu Abdulkadir Rasheed (Chiroman Dukku) who died today at the age of 53 after a brief illness.  Governor Inuwa described Engr. As the 2023/2024 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League is getting closer Gombe United Football Club will be participating in the Peace and Unity Tournament in Kano State.  The preseason soccer tournament presents clubs the needed avenue to integrate and blend the team ahead of the season kick-off.  The soccer tournament will involve four NPFL Clubs, Gombe United, Kano Pillars, Niger Tornadoes, Katsina United,  and two Nigeria National League side Wikki Tourists and El-Kanemi Warriors respectively. Meanwhile, Gombe United will  hit the road on Thursday morning to the ancient city of Kano. The Chairman of Northern Governors' Forum and Governor of Gombe State,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received with deep sadness and a heavy heart the news of the passing of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu who died yesterday after a brief illness.   He described the demise of the cleric as a great loss not only to the Muslim Ummah but also to the entire northern region and Nigeria as a whole.  Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the late Sheikh Argungu was a distinguished scholar and exemplary leader who devoted his life to the propagation of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ( SAW).  "Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu's life was a shining example of commitment to the teachings of Islam and the promotion of peace and harmony. As part of reforms being undertaken by the new leadership of the Gombe State Transport Services (Gombe Line), the sole administrator of the service, Dr. Sani Sabo, has announced the establishment of a courier service unit.  Dr. Sabo said the new initiative aims to establish a trustworthy platform for customers, ensuring swift parcel and waybill deliveries to every part of Nigeria, emphasizing that this unit's creation would eliminate the issue of lost items handed to drivers as waybills.  He urged all customers to utilize the courier unit offices at the service’s various stations nationwide for parcel and waybill deliveries, discouraging the practice of entrusting such items to unauthorized individuals.  Furthermore, Dr. Sabo assured that receipts would be provided for items submitted for delivery at the unit and tracking system would also be introduced.
