ACReSAL Project: Gov Yahaya Restates Commitment To Addressing Environmental Degradation

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has restated his government's commitment to curbing the menace of environmental degradation and providing resilience for sustainable livelihood and economic development. The governor was speaking at the official launch of Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, ACReSAL Project Implementation support mission held at the banquet hall of the Government House Gombe. Governor Yahaya Eulogies Nigerian Army For Contributing To The Prevailing Peace, Security In Gombe State

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has stressed that the security of lives and property of the citizenry remains paramount in his administration and will continue to work assiduously to guard it. Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated this while receiving in audience,  the newly posted Commander, 301 Field Artillery Regiment Gombe, Col. Musa S. Ahmed in company of the immediate past Commander, Col Abiah O. Ndah. Gov Yahaya Receives Report Of Transition Management Committee

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has received the report of the transition management committee he earlier set up to streamline the successful transition of governance in all ministries, departments and agencies  of Gombe State. This was contained in a statement by the Director General (Press Affairs)Government House Gombe, Isma'ila Uba Missilli. Presenting the report, the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Daudu commended Governor Inuwa for his good leadership qualities and approach to governance which help in sustaining development projects in the state even during economic downturns. Former NBBF Boss Applauds Gara Gombe's Efforts In Athletic Dev.

The recently concluded maiden editions of inter primary schools athletics championship organized by Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe has been described as  a step taken to produce national and international athletes in the state. The former vice chairman of Nigerian Basketball Federation NBBF, Alhaji Muktar Adamu Khali aka Malone stated  this in a chat with newsmen in Kano. Malone who is also the former Zone 3 basketball President said this really grassroots development, adding that  with few years, Gombe will dominate athletics events in the country. He said it be  could recalled that old  Bendel state  adopted similar programmes in the past,  which yielded positive results.  Five times Ballon 'dor winner,Cristiano Ronaldo  has entered into Guinness World Record Title for Highest Paid Athlete in 2023! The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player seems to be waxing stronger despite his age(38). Earlier, Ronaldo joined the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame 2023 after smashing plenty of records both on and off the pitch.  The incredible number of 200, was achieved between 20 August 2003 and 26 March this year.  

Gombe Governor Appoints State AGILE Project Coordinator

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON of Gombe state has approved the appointment of Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul, as Project Coordinator,  Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE AF). This was contained in a statement by the Director General Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, Isma'ila Uba Missilli. According to the statement, Secretary to the State Government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi conveyed the message. It added that, Dr. Amina Abdul's appointment is with effect from 14th July, 2023. AGILE is a World Bank assisted project geared at improving secondary education opportunities for adolescent girls in Gombe and other implementing States. 

Arsenal Sign West Ham Captain

  Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham for £100m plus £5m in add-ons. The Gunners' announcement comes after the 24-year-old issued an open letter to Hammers fans saying how 'tough' a decision it had been to leave the club. BBC Sport reported that Rice has moved on after captaining West Ham to the Europa Conference League title last season. Rice is Arsenal's third major signing this summer as they look to go one better than their second-placed finish in the Premier League last season.  His arrival follows the recruitment of Germany midfielder Kai Havertz from Chelsea in a £65m deal and Netherlands defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax for a fee which could rise to £38.5m.

Governor Yahaya Appoints Maudo As New GOSUPDA Chairman,Re-appoint Dr Kabiru As DG GOGIS

  Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON has approved the appointment of Samanja Bappayo Maudo as Executive Chairman, Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) The Governor has also reappointed Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan as Director General, Gombe Geographic Information System ( GOGIS).  The Secretary to the State Government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi who conveyed the Governor's approval in a statement, said both appointments take immediate effect. 

Family Support Primary School Clinches Victory At Gombe Inter-Primary School Athletics Championship

Family Support Primary School has emerged as the overall winner of Gombe Inter-Primary School Athletics Championship, securing an impressive tally of 10 medals—5 gold and 5 silver. The four-day athletics events, held at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, showcased the remarkable talents of young athletes from various primary schools in Gombe Local Government. During the closing ceremony, the Chairman of the Gombe State Athletics  Association, Alh. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara, congratulated the winning schools and presented them with gifts. Hassan Central Primary School secured the second position with a haul of 4 medals—3 gold and 1 bronze. Gabukka Primary School claimed the third spot with 7 medals—2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze. Additionally, individual prizes were awarded to exceptional athletes who demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the championship.
