Gruesome Murder Of A Woman: Gov Inuwa Yahaya Directs Security To Fish Out Culprits

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON has  strongly condemned the gruesome murder of Aishatu Abdullahi, a 58-year-old mother of 8 in Jekadafari ward of Gombe metropolis, describing the incident as a mindles act.   The Governor directed the Police and other relevant security agencies in the state to mobilise  investigative assets and ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous act are brought to justice. Gombe State Ranks 5th On 2023 Transparency, Integrity Index In Nigeria

Gombe State has again climbed two places to rank 5th  among the 36 states and the FCT on the 2023 Transparency and Integrity Index. The index was released this month by the Center for Fiscal Transparency and Integrity Watch in collaboration with the MacArthur Foundation.  It may be recalled that the state moved four places from the 11th position in 2021 to the 7th position in 2022 in the ranking.  This year, Gombe State ranks 5th among the 36 states of the federation and 2nd among the 19 states of northern Nigeria with respect to transparency variables such as Website Integrity, Fiscal Transparency, Anti-Corruption Efforts, Open Procurement, and Public Engagement. This index measures the extent to which state and federal government websites disclose information related to good governance within the public domain. It was a harvest of awards and honours for Gombe State as the Presidency, through the Bureau for Public Reforms ( BPR) rewarded government agencies and individuals for their remarkable achievements in technology and digital innovations.  In a colourful ceremony held at the International Conference Centre Abuja, Gombe State stood out brilliantly among many Federal establishments and state agencies from across the six geopolitical zones, receiving three prestigious awards. Gombe Geographic Information System (GOGIS) clinched the coveted "Best State in Geographic Information System" Award, with its Director-General, Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan, being honored with the "Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer's Award" for his outstanding contributions to the field.
