The National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, has presided over the Gombe State NUJ Executive Council meeting, during which critical issues affecting the journalism profession were deliberated. At the meeting, Comrade Yahaya disclosed ongoing efforts by the NUJ national leadership to enhance journalists’ welfare across the country. He highlighted planned interventions such as the introduction of a health insurance scheme, weigh-in allowances, and other welfare-related initiatives. He emphasized that unity, forgiveness, and professionalism remain vital to the growth and progress of journalism in Nigeria.
