Inuwa At 62: A Plethora Of Tributes For Gombe Governor




On the occasion of his 62nd birthday anniversary, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan Majen Gombe) and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, has continued to receive a Plethora of tributes and warm wishes from distinguished personalities.  


In his birthday message to the governor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised Inuwa's exceptional leadership, highlighting his dedicated efforts in implementing policies and programmes that focus on fostering economic empowerment in Gombe through substantial job creation.


President Tinubu also acknowledged Governor Inuwa's commendable responsiveness, exemplified by his proactive measures in tackling the economic challenges following the removal of fuel subsidy. This includes the introduction of a 40% subsidy on fertilizers and essential agricultural inputs to enhance food production in Gombe State, along with the successful implementation of 10,000 naira salary increment for workers in the state.


In the sprit of solidarity, Governor Inuwa’s colleagues under the auspices of the Progressive Governors' Forum chaired by Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, joined other governors across the country in celebrating with the Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum, hailing him as a genuine progressive and an exceptional leader.


“Your insightful and resolute inputs in managing governance in Gombe State and at the national level have not gone unnoticed. Your exceptional leadership qualities have significantly transformed the landscape of governance in Gombe State, evident through the numerous development initiatives undertaken by your APC-led government. We affirm that you are a true progressive and innovative leader” the APC governors said.


Governors Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, have also conveyed their individual felicitations through newspaper publications, extending their warm wishes on behalf of their state's governments and citizens. 


“His Excellency has been one of the most unifying leaders I have come across. As a key founding member of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has been a builder-builder and a thorough progressive that is well positioned to continue chairing us at the Northern Governors’ Forum”, said Governor Zulum. 


“There is no doubt, you have dedicated many years of your life to serving the good people of Gombe for the development of the state. We pray almighty Allah to bless you with many more years, good health, increased strength, and wisdom to continue serving Gombe state, Nigeria, and humanity,  said Governor Buni. 


The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly and other lawmakers, the Secretary to Gombe State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, forum of commissioners, heads of agencies and parastatals, chairmen of boards, head of educational institutions in Gombe state, local government care-taker chairmen, other officials of the government and party leadership, have all sent their individual and collective felicitations to the governor. 


Members of the business community within and outside the state have also felicitated with the governor including the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jidadu Ventures Limited (JVL)– the company handling the multi-billion naira water expansion project in Gombe state, Yahaya Barambu.
