Hajj 2023: Inuwa Yahaya Receives Award As Best Supportive Governor In Hajj Exercise


Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received an Award as the “Best Supportive Governor in the North” in the just concluded 2023 Hajj exercise.  


The Governor alongside his Adamawa, Kaduna and Edo counterparts were recognised by Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria, an independent media organization that monitors and reports activities of Hajj exercise in Nigeria.


The National Coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters, Malam Ibrahim Muhammed announced this at the 2023 Hajj Lecture and Award ceremony which held at the National Mosque auditorium in Abuja with the theme: “Recognizing Dedication/Review and Overview Of Hajj Challenges”. 


He said the Gombe State Governor was specially recognised for demonstrating a remarkable support to the State's pilgrims to Saudi Arabia which ensured effective Hajj management and service delivery in the 2023 Hajj operation.  


The Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,  Sa'ad Hassan represented Governor at the event, and received the award on his behalf.  


The award ceremony was chaired by Ambassador Zubairu Dada, former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs while Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the Chairman of NAHCON, was Chief Host.

By Halilu Mohammed Teli  Football fever is set to grip Gombe South once again as the 9th edition of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup officially kicks off, with Binge Flying Bees taking on Super Lions Kalshin in what promises to be a thrilling opening encounter on the 5th of December 2025, at Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium, Kaltugo. This year’s draws, conducted at Amdo Adore Event Center, Kaltugo,Kaltungo Local Government Area, brought together a record 64 football clubs drawn from across Kaltungo, Billiri, Balanga, and Shongom LGAs. The massive turnout underlines the competition’s reputation as the biggest grassroots football tournament in Gombe State and one of the most consistent community-driven competitions in Nigeria.
