Football Unites Gombe South as All Stars FC Win Unity Cup

All Stars FC of Kaltungo have emerged champions of the 9th edition of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, following a dramatic 3–2 penalty shootout victory over Oska FC after regulation time ended 1–1.

The thrilling final, played at the Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium, saw Oska FC take the lead in the first half. 

However, All Stars FC drew level from the penalty spot after Oska’s goalkeeper committed an infringement inside the box.

Despite dominating the second half and creating several clear scoring chances, Oska FC failed to convert, a miss that would later prove costly.

 Oska FC lost both their first and second goalkeepers after receiving red cards in the previous match.
an outfield player step in as makeshift goalkeeper and produced two brilliant saves during the shootout, three Oska players missed their spot kicks, handing All Stars FC the title.

Earlier in the third-place match, Dinge Flying Bees defeated Chonge FC 3–0 on penalties after a goalless draw to claim the bronze position.

Speaking after the final, the Vice Chairman of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup  Mohammed Yusuf,praised the organizers for using football as a tool to unite the people of Gombe South, particularly the youth, describing the tournament as a platform for peace, talent discovery and community development.

At the presentation ceremony, All Stars FC lifted the giant trophy and received a cash prize of 750,000 naira , runners up ,400,000 and third-placed got 300,000 .

Individual awards were presented to the Best Coach, Best Player, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, and Fair Play Team, which went to Kalkulum United.

The Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup once again lived up to its reputation as a celebration of unity, grassroots football and emerging talents in the region.

This year’s draws, conducted at Amdo Adore Event Center, Kaltugo,Kaltungo Local Government Area, brought together a record 64 football clubs drawn from across Kaltungo, Billiri, Balanga, and Shongom LGAs.
