Gombe State Referees Council Organizes Mock Fitness Test Ahead of the National Fitness Copa Test



Ahead of the forthcoming  national referees' copa test, the Gombe State Referees Council has organized a mock fitness test to its members.

The Secretary of the council,Ishaya Usman said the exercise is aimed at fully preparing members both physically and mentally with just a week to the commencement of the National Fitness Test.

According to Ishaya Usman, fifty referees are participating in the exercise, with eleven going for the Premier League Referees Fitness Test  scheduled for Abuja.
" In the he physical test, females will run for 27', while the male will run for just 23',apart from warm up and short runs. They have 40 metres to run in six laps ".

He applauded both the training officer Haruna isa Haruna Isah Kalshingi and his deputy Goni for their commitment and relentless efforts in the build up to the fitness test.

In his remarks, the chairman, Gombe State Football Association (F.A), Mr Philibus Yakubu Sarma ,ably represented by his deputy, Ibrahim Mijin Yawa applauded the state referees' council for organizing the fitness, which according to is the first of it kind, and assured to continue to work in synergy.

He called on referees to make good use of the exercise,so as to emerge victorious in the forthcoming national fitness test and make the state proud.

Commenting, Alhaji Auwalu Musa Umar aka Chansi, member Gombe State Referees Advisory Council and former F.A. chairman, said going by the crop of young and promising referees ,he is optimistic in the next few years the state will have alot of FIFA referees.

The NFF finance committee member, applauded the performance of the referees in the ongoing State League One and at the last Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and advised them to put more effort in mastering the rules of the game and seek for advice and interpretation from their senior colleagues.

In attendance were the chairman of the referees council Kalala and the immediate past chairman Babawuro  aka Johny, among others.

This year’s draws, conducted at Amdo Adore Event Center, Kaltugo,Kaltungo Local Government Area, brought together a record 64 football clubs drawn from across Kaltungo, Billiri, Balanga, and Shongom LGAs.
