About one thousand patients have benefited from the free medical outreach of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) , Gombe state chapter.
The Amir of the association,Dr Mohammed Nasir Ishaq made the revelation during the exercise at the newly commissioned Iman Medical Home at Tashan Dukku, Gombe.
Dr Mohammed Ishaq the exercise is aimed at giving back to the society, especially to the less privileged in the society.
According to him, the outreach was achieved through the monthly contribution of members from all public health centers across the state.
He particularly applauded the donor of the structure who donated it as waqaf, praying God to reward him with Jannatul Firdaus.
He added that the center will provide services like the Specialist Hospital and will serve as transit camp for patients coming from the rural areas.
Also commenting, the chairman of outreach committee,Dr Danimo Mustapha Abdulsalam explained that the faith base organization deemed it fit to bring health services closer to the downtrodden as part of their community service.
He appealed to well to do individuals to contribute in this course for an ending rewards, saying their doors are open for partnership and collaboration.
Dr Ibrahim Adamu who addressed the beneficiaries, the exercise is free, while the medical home will subsequently charges little fee for services that would be rendered unlike private hospitals.
In their remarks, the Medical Director, Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Dr Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi and the Ward Head of London Mai ɗorawa, Musa Shehu applauded IMAN for the initiative and called for support from all and sundry.
Some of the beneficiaries, Maimuna Abdullahi and Usman Jibril Mikail expressed appreciation to IMAN for the gesture, praying for it sustainance.
The free medical outreach includes ,eye screening,BP l, sugar and malaria tests, dental care as we as minor surgeries among others.
