Gombe State FA Chairman Sponsors Maiden Gombe State Inter -Security Agencies Football Competitive



Nigeria Civil and Security Defence Corps NSCDC will trade tackle Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the opening match of the maiden edition of the Gombe State Inter Security Agencies Unity Football Competition.

This followed the draws conducted at the conference hall of the State Ministry of Internal Security and Ethical Orientation as twelve security agencies were paired four each in three groups.

The competition sponsored by the chairman of Gombe State Football Association (F.A),Mr Philibus Yakubu Sarma will kicked off on the 20th of this month at the Pantami stadium.

Speaking the Gombe State Director of Sports, Mrs Hannatu John who stood in for the Commissioner for Youths and Sports applauded the initiative and assured Government support towards its success.

The Representative of the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Ali Yayaji, Director Security Formation and Operation, explained that the competition is aimed at building more synergy,cooperation and unity amongst the sister agencies.

While calling other states from the Northeast region to emulate Gombe State,he prayed for a hitch free and successful outing.

In an address of welcome, the Gombe State F.A Chairman, Mr Philibus Yakubu Sarma the competition is the beginning of more collaboration and mutual understanding within the security outfit and sporting Community.

Mr Sarma assured that the subsequent edition would be more organized attractive, calling on the participants to abide by the rules governing the competition.

NSCDC, Police,NDLEA and FRSC were drawn in group A, EFCC, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and the Nigerian Army will battle in group B  while DSS, Nigerian Custom Service,GOSTEC and Nigeria Immigration Service go head to head in group C.
