NUJ At 70: National President urges members to renew commitment to upholding the values of journalism

As journalists nationwide celebrates the seventieth anniversary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the national president of the body,Comrade Alhassan Abdullahi Yahaya has urged members to reflect on the legacy of the union and uphold the values of the profession.

In his celebratory message to the members of the pen profession, comrade Yahaya expressed his deepest gratitude and admiration for all the hard work and dedication that journalists have put into the field of journalism.

He said over the past seven decades, the NUJ has played a crucial role in championing press freedom, defending the rights of journalists, and ensuring ethical standards in the industry.

The National President of the NUJ acknowledged their commitment to speaking truth to power, holding those in authority accountable, and giving voice to the voiceless

He again congratulated all NUJ members on reaching this significant milestone.

This year’s draws, conducted at Amdo Adore Event Center, Kaltugo,Kaltungo Local Government Area, brought together a record 64 football clubs drawn from across Kaltungo, Billiri, Balanga, and Shongom LGAs.
